A little history first, this is a Austrian royal, born Nov. 2 1755, was married to the King of France Louis XVI, the last French monarch. Both of them, so young (roughly 20) and unfit to meet the peoples expectations, brought down the monarchy. As a young King , the country thought he would bring new ideas, much-needed reforms, and a fresh approach to governing France (which was deeply in debt).
The kings new policies failed as Marie Antoinette increased her spending on all sorts of entertainment (fashion, gambling, Opera). Rumors about her out of control spending and alleged secret lovers upset a starving suffering mob and contributed to the French Revolution.
