Don’t be so hard on yourself.. sometimes it isn’t just you.
Doors. Doors themselves are guilty for memory lapses. Psychologists at the University of Notre Dame have discovered that passing though a doorway triggers what is know as an “event boundary in the mind”. So your brain automatically leaves your thoughts in the other room.. that’ s why you forget!
Wide-open spaces. Ever walked in circles? Have I seen that tree before? Well, German research reveals that with every step a walker takes, a small change happens in the brains balance. These accumulate and make even tighter circle walking. No issue, this re-calibrates when we see landmarks like buildings and such.
Beeps. Can’t concentrate? Noise travels through the air as energy and fades, that’s how our brain can tell what made it and where its coming from. Beeps don’t fade like normal sound, so our brain freaks out because it takes longer to figure it out and we loose concentration.
